To discover
Prague is located on the Vltava river and stretches over several hills. With over a million inhabitants, Prague is the seat of the Czech Parliament and Government, an important economical and cultural center, and is considered as one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. Its position allows easy access to major European cities such as Berlin, Bratislava, Vienna and Budapest. Named as “the city of a hundred spiers”, Prague has three historical districts, which makes it unique among the capitals of Europe. The three old districts, the Old Town, the Small Town and the New Town, have remained quite unchanged for hundreds of years. Adorned with beautiful statues, the Charles Bridge connects the old district under the castle’s walls with the old and new town. The new town is an important place for arts, entertainment and shopping. The entire city exhibits an astonishing composition of different architectural styles, which further enhances its appeal.
Prague has been the homeland of many musicians, writers and artists, including Kafka, Kundera, Mozart, Dvořák and Smetana.
Residents and visitors have many opportunities to attend cultural events and performances, which showcase local and international talent. The city has many museums and galleries, a lot of clubs and recital halls offer daily concerts, operas and plays.
